My Town by Marc Capdevila

From Marc Capdevila to Carly Middleton

Hello Carly,

I'm going to talk about my town. I live in Juneda, it's near Lleida.

There are one Primary school and one nursery. Juneda isn't very big, it has 3500 habitants. My town have four squares spread through all the town, a very beautiful church, a modern library and there are three swimming pools, a big, a medium, and a little one. There are some bars and restaurants too. We have a sports center where we can practice many activities like  football, hockey, skating, basketball and there is a small gym too.
From the pools to the first channel fall there is a long avenue beside the canal where you can run, walk and practice outdoor sports, this park is called "la banqueta".
Sometimes in spring, we have picnics or barbecues with friends, and we eat meat and "calçots", which are a special kind of long, thin onions consumed in Catalonia. There is also a contest to make "Cassoles de tros" stove stew that our grandparents had done long time ago, as we continue celebrating this tradition.
I think that Juneda is a very beautiful town.
